Java Technical team lead

Our client, a leader in the Insurance industry (financial and information switching) is seeking the services of a Java Technical team lead with 6 years Java development and 1 - 2 years team leading experience.

We are looking for your 2 years Technical Lead experience, 6 years solid, practical Java development experience , 3 years practical Java EE experience (specifically EJB) and 6 years database experience with various RDBMS.

You will be responsible for leading development efforts with offshore and local development teams. You will also be required to perform development duties on these projects (this is a very technical position!).

Team Leader, Development manager or Architect.

Main Duties include:
Leading local and or offshore project teams in various development projects.
Develop and maintain software to serve in a web and real-time messaging environment according to business requirements.
Write and maintain technical documentation.
Ensure that high levels of code quality are maintained by development teams.
Perform thorough technical and unit testing of software.
Follow change and release control procedures.
Use source control religiously, tagging versions so as to assist in change and release control.
Provide assistance to junior members of the team.

Knowledge:
Flex.
Hibernate JPA.
Web Services .
Multi-threaded Java development.
XML processing.
Software development best practices.
Be able to write clear, concise technical specifications.
Salary: R 450 000 to R 480 000 CTC P/A
Qualification Required: SCJD or SCJP with B.Sc Computer Science or B.Com Informatics
